Position Details
We are seeking Retired Police Officers to provide security services for our organization.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. Retired police officers bring a unique level of expertise and authority to the security role, contributing to a heightened level of safety and confidence among our stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a visible presence to deter criminal activity and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to identify and address potential security risks.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, utilizing law enforcement training and tactics as appropriate.
- Investigate security breaches, disturbances, and suspicious activities, taking necessary actions to resolve or escalate as required.
- Maintain order and safety during special events, crowd control situations, or other high-risk scenarios.
- Collaborate with on-duty law enforcement personnel, security staff, and other stakeholders to coordinate responses and ensure effective communication.
- Conduct thorough inspections of the premises to ensure all access points are secure and all security systems are functioning properly.
- Provide assistance and support to visitors, employees, and clients as needed, while upholding professional standards and enforcing relevant regulations.
- Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed reports, adhering to legal and departmental requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information and situations.
Requirements:
- Retired police officer with IROCC certification from a recognized law enforcement agency or state of Illinois.
- Extensive experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
- Ability to maintain composure and make quick, effective decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and assertively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and build trust with stakeholders.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, running, and occasionally lifting heavy objects.
- Clean criminal record and exemplary conduct both on and off duty.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- CPR/First Aid, and any additional certifications required by the hiring organization.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on organizational needs.
