Specific Duties:
To serve as an Information Systems/Business Analyst in support of the Forensic Services Laboratory and external customers by maintaining the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), all associated modules and the sexual assault kit tracking software (TrackKit).

General Responsibility:
  • Consult with clients and provide solutions for routine problems experienced in iLab (remote evidence login).
  • Consult with laboratory staff and external customers to provide solutions for routine problems in LIMS and all associated modules.
  • Consult with laboratory staff and external customers to provide solutions for routine problems in the sexual assault kit tracking software (TrackKit).
  • Provide training to external customers and forensic employees.
  • Provide statistics to the Forensic Administration and laboratory supervisors.
  • Test and debug the LIMS and all associated modules.
  • Act as a liaison for the Forensic Technology Unit. Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
  • An associate's degree in computer science/technology or a related field and two years of related work experience. A Bachelor's degree in computer science/technology or related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
  • General knowledge of techniques of computer programming, relational databases and report generation using Crystal Reports.
  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of systems analysis in a forensic laboratory setting.
  • Ability to analyze forensic analytical operations and organize component parts into logical systems.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions associated with forensic laboratory operations and requests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written communications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Position requires some light lifting and occasional overnight travel.
