NOW OFFERING LATERALHIRE OPPORTUNITY!Duties include booking, fingerprinting and photographing arrested persons; conducting intoxilyzer tests; searching and screening, supervising, preparing meals for, feeding, and releasing jail inmates; cleaning and handling maintenance of the jail; preparing and submitting daily activity reports; conducting daily searches of the jail facility; processing monies for bonds/fines; and attending court as needed. Duties will require ability to restrain and secure combative prisoners using verbal skills, hand control techniques and/or other accepted methods; attending mandatory training courses and maintaining all required certifications. Hours include two shifts covering a 24-hour period. A high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Class C Texas driver’s license and a good driving record are required. Must be at least 18 years of age to be hired. Dutiesinvolve access to sensitive Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), which requires that a thorough background check be conducted. Candidates will be subject to a polygraph exam, a psychological exam, and criminal history check. Must not have any criminal conviction above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered.

PAY GRADE GG14 / FULL PAY RANGE $21.61 - $30.47 PER HOUR

HIRING INCENTIVE!

  • Individuals hired into a Detention Officer position will receive $1,666 after their first 30 days of employment provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
  • Employees that successfully complete their orientation period will receive an additional one-time payment of $1,667 provided there are no documented attendance or disciplinary issues.
  • Employees that successfully complete one year of employment without documented attendance or disciplinary issues will receive an additional one- time payment of $1,667.
  • The maximum amount of hiring incentive that an individua/ employee may receive is $5,000.
