Description

This is routine work in the enforcement of parking rates and regulations. An employee in this class routinely patrols all on-street & off-street parking areas while driving a city vehicle or on foot as needed, enforcing City of Hallandale Beach parking related ordinances and applicable Florida State Statutes governing parking. Employees may be called upon to assist the public by providing information about parking locations, rates and regulations. Work schedules may involve night, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts. Work methods are prescribed in detail, and the work is subject to periodic supervisory reviews. Employee works under general supervision and must demonstrate initiative, discernment and excellent interpersonal skills.

Must possess a current and valid Florida driver's license with no moving violations in the three (3) previous years; 2 years professional work experience. Must acquire the Parking Enforcement Specialist Certificate within one (1) month of employment.

In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of training and experience; psychological evaluation; polygraph examination; background investigation; medical evaluation; controlled substance screen.

Applicants are required to sign an affidavit for non-use of tobacco products in order to be considered for employment.
