Three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

LOUISIANA STATE GOVERNMENT (State Employee)

This position may be filled as:

  • DETAIL : The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted
  • TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT: This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
  • PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT: Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment, if selected.

Screens new commitments to identify candidates for the intensive incarceration program, special treatment programs, or for imminent or immediate releases. Performs in-depth research on individual criminal records.

  • No Civil Service Test Score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.

  • SALARY DEPENDS ON LEVEL EXPERIENCE
  • As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Corrections ARDC Specialist 1, Corrections ARDC Specialist 2 or Corrections ARDC Specialist 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
    1. The maximum salary for the Corrections ARDC Specialist 3 is $68,806.
