Your duties would include, but not be limited to:
Supervising and evaluating the work of subordinate staff nurses, and medical/clerical nurse unit coordinators to ensure 24 hour nursing coverage.
Providing input to develop policies and procedures to improve the quality of care.

This position also:
Monitors accrediting, and regulatory criteria to maintain compliance, and assure compliance requirements are maintained. Integrates standards of nursing care to maintain optimal level of care is provided to incarcerated individuals.
Integrates standards of nursing care to update policies and procedures.
Establishes and maintains guidelines for nursing staff to assure optimal care within assigned areas of medical and mental health.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and experience equal to three years of full-time supervisory/management nursing experience;

OR

graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Nursing and experience equal to one year of full-time supervisory/management nursing experience;

OR

an equivalent combination of the required education and experience, substituting one year of experience for thirty semester hours or equivalent of education; no substitution for three years of full-time supervisory/management nursing experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator’s Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

NOTE: Be sure to include your State of Iowa or compact state license number and expiration date with your application

REMINDER: Compact license holders are required to obtain an Iowa license within 60 days
