Juvenile Detention Officer
. In this dynamic role, you'll provide mentorship, safety, structure, and support to youth in a secure facility—helping guide them toward a better path.
As a Juvenile Detention Officer, you’ll do more than maintain order—you'll serve as a role model, coach, and advocate for positive change. From leading group activities and providing counseling, to ensuring safety and assisting with court processes, you'll be part of a team that plays a vital role in shaping futures and building safer communities.

What You'll Do
:
•Supervise and guide youth in a safe, secure, and respectful environment
•Facilitate educational, recreational, and personal development activities
•Collaborate with justice partners, families, and treatment providers
•Respond to crises with professionalism and compassion
•Monitor safety, conduct intake screenings, and maintain detailed documentation
•Support youth through positive interactions, teaching social and life skills
What We're Looking For:
•Strong communicators with a calm, confident presence under pressure
•Individuals who are committed to rehabilitation, not just detention
•Team players who can also take initiative
•People who value structure, integrity, and mutual respect
•Experience working with at-risk or justice-involved youth is a plus
Do You Have What It Takes?
•High school diploma required; degree or equivalent experience preferred
•Ability to complete POST-certified Juvenile Detention Officer training within one year
•Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks
•CPR/First Aid and other safety certifications or ability to obtain
•Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
•Experience working with at-risk or justice-involved youth is a plus
