WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

The Criminal Justice Technician 1 plays an important role in providing technical and administrative support to the Applicant Records and Licensing Unit, partner agencies, and general public. Working under the guidance of the Records and Licensing Supervisor to:

  • Application and Records Processing
    • Review, process, and maintain criminal history requests and various permit/license applications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Customer Service and Administrative Support
    • Provide front-line assistance to the public, manage communications, handle financial transactions, and perform general office support duties.
  • Research, Compliance, and Coordination
    • Conduct research to resolve record discrepancies, ensure data accuracy, generate reports, and collaborate with internal staff and external agencies to support system integrity and legal compliance

This position is based at the Department of Public Safety’s Headquarters building, located at 5700 East Tudor Road in Anchorage, with the stunning Chugach Mountains as its backdrop. This position requires the incumbent to submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, and required access to APSIN, an applicant with criminal convictions will not move forward in the selection process.
