The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Food Service Lead position at the Anchorage Correctional Complex (ACC) located in Anchorage, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing:

Train inmates in culinary arts, including food preparation, sanitation, hygiene, safety, and proper use and cleaning of industrial kitchen equipment, while ensuring food serving methods meet the State of Alaska’s Department of Environmental Conservation standards. Adjust work schedules based on inmate availability, document prepared diets and food items served, and ensure hot/cold food carts are accurately loaded and temperature-checked before leaving the kitchen.

Vacancies in this job class are filled through Union referral, except for promotions, demotions, transfers, and emergency appointments.

RECRUITMENT DIFFICULTIES

Starting salary may be approved up to Step D - $26.32, if criteria are met.

PREA NOTIFICATION

Please be aware – this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
