JOB SUMMARY

In a non-sworn capacity, to support various operations in the Police Department; Investigate potential violations and enforce municipal and state codes, ordinances, and regulations related to nuisance abatement, animal control, parking, zoning code violations. May also assist the Patrol Division with cold criminal / non-criminal reports, traffic direction, non-injury traffic crashes, and speed enforcement utilizing the radar / photo speed enforcement vehicle.

This position will work a compressed schedule of 32 hours per week, and must be available to work days, weekends, and evenings as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or (G.E.D.); Prior code enforcement, animal control, community service officer, or similar public service position preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior animal care management or handling experience preferred. Outstanding customer service skills required. Knowledge of codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations pertaining to nuisance abatement, animal, parking control, and zoning preferred.

A minimum of three years’ related experience will be required to be considered for a CSO II position.
