The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is offering a benefit-eligible Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) opportunity for a Project/Program Manager II (PPM II) in the Records Services Section (RSS).This position will manage multiple deadlines, respond to government entities, and collaborate with the Archives & Records Manager, KCSO Legal team, and the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The role is well-suited to an organized, detail-oriented professional with legal experience who thrives in a high-volume environment and is committed to transparency, accountability, and public service.
This assignment is benefit-eligible and is expected to last approximately 16 months.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Distribute subpoenas to former employees received via electronic and physical mail.
- Monitor the Legal Unit email inbox and triage communications.
- Retrieve case files and CAD reports to support discovery requests.
- Enter and track requests in GovQA for accurate processing and recordkeeping.
- Assist with subpoena duces tecum responses.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Records Services Section.
- Conduct research, including eDiscovery tasks.
- Maintain Legal Unit records systems and documentation.
- Highly skilled in research, data analysis, and information gathering.
- Proven ability to deliver consistent, detail-oriented, high-quality work.
- Sound judgment, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with databases and recordkeeping systems to manage and use data.
- Knowledge of research methods for electronic records.
- Knowledge of general government principles and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities amid frequent interruptions.

Highly Desirable QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five plus years paralegal experience
- Five plus years law enforcement, court or legal experience
- Training or education in legal field
- Three plus years high-level administrative support experience.
- Knowledge of records management practices and record retention techniques and principles.
- Previous experience working with confidential or highly sensitive information and/or offensive documents/case files.
- Experience in managing both physical and electronic records throughout their lifecycle, ensuring proper classification, secure storage, and timely disposition.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass thorough background investigation, including a polygraph
- For KCSO employees: if applying as a special duty assignment, KCSO employees must have approval from their chain of command
WORK LOCATION: SeaTac Towers – 17930 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA
WORK SCHEDULE: This full-time position is overtime eligible with prior supervisor approval. Typical work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; shifts may vary by assignment. Rarely, additional hours may be necessary to respond to workload needs, which may include evenings and weekends.
