This is an unlicensed position working in the Gallatin County Detention Center’s Medical Clinic providing support to the medical team by assisting with various work tasks. The Clinic Tech helps increase efficiency and productivity in the clinic. This position is supervised by the Clinic Director or designee and does not supervise other positions.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities- Knowledgeable of HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality.
- Gather inmate medical information on new arrests from booking each morning.
- Meet 1:1 with inmates to collects patient information (insurance, medication list, current providers, etc.)
- Meet 1:1 with inmates to complete initial evaluation questionnaire.
- Takes vital signs (blood pressure, weight, O2 stats, temperature) as assigned by supervising nurse.
- Takes notes during initial examination with provider using Electronic Health Records.
- Available as second staff person safety back-up for nurses during initial examinations with inmates.
- Checks medication inventory and orders medications.
- Check-in medications delivered from pharmacy.
- Processes, documents, and returns medications to pharmacy.
- Assists with inmate release preparation (gathers medications, gives reference material to inmate, collects medical equipment).
- Back-up support for Office Manager duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, running errands.
Other Duties as Assigned - May perform a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications- Training as a certified nurse’s aide, medical assistant, emergency medical technician, pharmacy technician, or other related field.
- High School diploma or equivalent.

Hiring range for Clinic Technician Residential Aide: $19.27 – $21.28 per hour.
Hiring range for Clinic Technician CNA: $20.23 - $22.33 per hour.
