Organizes, prepares and administers medications to the offender population at the designated pill call times in the general compound and the cellblock. This includes preparing the medication administration sheets when medications are ordered, initialing medication sheets when the medications are administered, noting expired dates of medications and re-ordering medications as needed.

SALARY DEPENDENT ON QUALIFICATIONS
This position has a Special Entrance Rate at each level
Practical Nurse-Licensed 1 has an SER of $19.48 per hour.
Practical Nurse-Licensed 2 has an SER of $20.84 per hour.
Practical Nurse-Licensed 3 has an SER of $22.30 per hour.
‘Premium Pay’ paid in addition to regular pay for qualifying conditions:
Retention * Credentials * Experience * Shift Differential
There is Premium Pay at a rate of $5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to
regular pay.
Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

- Prioritize offender medical complaints at sick call, render treatment per sick call protocol, and forward medical records to the Physician for review.

This position may be filled as:
- DETAIL: The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- TEMPORARY JOB APPOINTMENT: This position may be filled by temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
- PROBATIONAL APPOINTMENT: Current permanent status classified State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment, if selected.
- As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Practical Nurse-Licensed 1, 2, or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
- The maximum salary for the Practical Nurse-Licensed 3 is $ 60,590.
