  1. Must be a current Broward Sheriff's Office employee who has successfully completed their probationary period by the listed closing date.
  2. Three (3) years of progressively responsible lead work or supervisory experience in customer service duties demonstrating ability to provide effective coordination for data entry and/or automated office or computerized system functions.
  3. Bilingual abilities (i.e. speak, read, write, understand) in Creole, French, and/or Spanish preferred.
  4. Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license throughout employment without any restrictions which affect job performance.
  5. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Such experience must be clearly documented for consideration.
Incumbents must have NCIC/FCIC certification in order to run criminal background security checks.

**This position requires the ability to work any shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.** Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to supervise and coordinate the activities of the Port Everglades Identification Unit. Employees in this classification are responsible for supervising the processing and issuance of identification for employees of firms doing business in the Port jurisdictional area. Work includes overseeing unit functions of reviewing applications for photo identification; conducting criminal history checks; fingerprinting and photographing subject employees; and the receipt and recording of payments for transactions. Performs related work as directed.The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. Oversees, supervises, monitors, reviews and evaluates work performance and administrative aspects of the Port's identification function under charge.

Conducts quality control on work performed within the unit through the approval of applications for identification cards and reviewing fingerprints, FCIC/NCIC criminal histories, photographs, and I.D. cards prior to issuance.

Develops, implements and updates policies and procedures relating to functions under charge.

Provides training/orientation to employees and establishes and maintains procedures for training.

Evaluates, counsels and disciplines staff; performs scheduling and approves leave time; authorizes overtime; reviews and approves completed payroll.

Compiles and maintains data and files and prepares various statistical and informational records and reports for management review; functions as records custodian for the unit.

Maintains and reconciles unit fiscal records; prepares and submits bank deposits, budget and purchase requests; and reviews/approves supply requisitions; orders and inventories office supplies equipment.

Performs related duties as directed.

Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.
