Description A Deputy Service Aide (DSA) is a uniformed civilian position which is assigned to different assignments between the Patrol and Corrections Divisions. Some assignments are but, not limited to Commissary Officer, Console Operator, or Civil Clerk.
  • Report any observation of suspicious activity
  • Assist as needed
  • Transport vehicles with various departmental programs
  • Provide pickup and delivery services, repair, and maintenance
  • Provide assistance in Records Division
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Provide assistance to the Jail Division
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Typing and work processing skills
  • Possess a valid Illinois State Driver’s License
  • Be able to pass a background investigation
  • Driving record acceptable to the county

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABLILITES REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Capable of reaching shelving up to 8 feet with use of a step ladder and capable of reaching filing cabinets up to five drawers
  • Ability to work evening hours, holidays, weekends, and shift work
  • Ability to be objective and make decisions without outside influences

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift, squat, bend to gather items from the storage units
  • Ability to stretch and move weight bearing joints in the process of bending, stooping, kneeling, or reaching to assist an injured person, with or without assistance from another officer
