Description The Brookings Police Department is looking for a Deputy Chief of Police to assist the Chief in overseeing operations, strategy, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

Lead daily operations and manage staff.
Build strong community partnerships.
Guide crime reduction efforts and support data-driven decisions.
Oversee patrols, investigations, and training.
Lead during emergency incidents.

Qualifications:

15+ years in law enforcement, including 7+ in a supervisory role.
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field (Master’s preferred).
Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on community policing.
