POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT SALARY:
Starting at $58,873 or $60,080 w/ bachelor’s degree.
Additional 5% salary increase at 12 months ($61,673 or $62,940 w/ bachelor’s degree) Additional 5% increase at 18 months of service ($64,612 or $65,941 w/ bachelor’s degree) *Includes Transportation and Communication Allowances
CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER SALARY: Starting at $63,075 or $64,281 w/ bachelor’s degree.
Additional 5% salary increase at 12 months ($66,084 or $67,351 w/ bachelor’s degree) Additional 5% increase at 18 months of service ($69,244 or $70,573 w/ bachelor’s degree) *Includes Transportation and Communication Allowances

Job Requirements

Minimum Training and Experience Required
Applicants must have 60 semester hours of college credit from a regionally accredited college or university, or 30 semester hours and 2 years of experience as a certified Police Officer or Active-Duty Military.
Applicants must be 21 years of age before hire date and be a citizen of the United States.
Applicants must be able to obtain a valid Tennessee driver's license.
Applicants must pass a thorough background investigation. Selection process includes:

Applicants must pass a written test.
Applicants who pass the written test will participate in an oral interview process.
Applicants must pass a polygraph test.
Applicants must pass a psychological and medical examination.
