The testing process consists of a Training and Experience Evaluation Exam. Applicants' relevant experience, education and training will be evaluated based solely upon responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire and the T-score achieved on the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB). Applicants are encouraged to take the PELLETB and receive the results (T-score) prior to submitting an application. Under close supervision, the Deputy Sheriff Recruit participates in a basic law enforcement training program including the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office State of California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved Basic Academy.
Note: If the minimum qualifications include an educational or certificate/license requirement, applicants must submit proof of requirements with the application. Failure to submit proof of requirements may result in disqualification from the examination. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable. Probationary Period The probationary period for this classification is twelve (12) months.
