Description Complete and supervise the completion of food preparation and preparation by utilizing pre-weighed ingredients, recipes and the daily production schedules, so that the food indicated on the menu are prepared in a timely manner by efficient utilization of offenders.
Assist in the preparation of medically ordered diets and special tray preparations.
Each meal ensure that all foods, produced, served, and cleaned-up are in compliance with Iowa Medical and Classification Center policies and procedures;
Dietary Services procedures; Federal, State and local regulations and continuous quality improvement principles.
Deliver hot/cold food transport carts to living units as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

Shift available is 11am-7pm with Saturday/ Sunday offApplicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
  1. Two years of full-time work experience in mass food production in a commercial, military, hospital, or institutional food services setting.
  2. A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in dietetics, nutrition, food management or a closely related equals one year of full-time experience.
  3. Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Cook 1, Cook 2, or Baker.
