  • Conducts advanced statistical analysis and data management to support the South Carolina department of corrections in monitoring operations, performance, and compliance.
  • Use SAS and other tools to analyze trends, create reports, and develop data visualizations for decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity through regular cleaning and quality control.
  • Collaborate with staff and leadership to assess risks, analyze historical data, and develop methods that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend evidence-based improvements to policies and resources.
  • Prepare and present findings in reports and dashboards for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support compliance by developing automated tools to track metrics and progress.
  • Work with internal audit and continuous quality improvement teams to evaluate institutional performance and assist in audit preparation.
  • Provide training on statistical tools and respond to data-related inquiries while ensuring compliance with privacy standards.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree with statistical courses and experience in statistics.


SCDC Minimum Requirements:

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of the State of Human Resources).

  • A bachelor-s degree and one (1) year working experience in statistics;

OR

  • An associate degree and three (3) years' working experience in statistics;

OR

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of five (5) years- working experience in statistics.
  • Preferred requirements at least one (1) year of experience working with statistical software (e.g., SAS), data management, and quantitative reporting. Experience in a correctional, governmental, or regulatory environment is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to Interpret complex data, support decision-making, and maintain ethical standards in data handling.
