  Uniforms will be provided by the Police Department.

  Hours vary and include Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays

  No fringe benefits

Position Details

Applications are now being accepted for the position of Auxiliary Police Officers.

Qualifications:

1. Must be a minimum of 21 years old
2. Possess a valid IL driver's license and Firearms Owner ID (FOID) card
3. Able to pass a 40-hour Firearms Training course
4. Satisfactorily complete an in-house training program and a criminal background investigation
5. High School diploma
6. Must have data entry experience

Residency Requirement:

• Must reside within twenty-five (25) miles of the corporate boundaries of the Village

Duties would include, but are not limited to:

1. Collection of coins from parking meters
2. Issuing tickets for parking violations
3. Directing traffic and other duties as assigned by the Director of Police

Successful candidates will be required to attend 80 hours of preliminary training with pay and purchase their own firearm and equipment.
