This employee will serve as Major within the Law Enforcement Division, and will be responsible for overseeing Regions 1, 2 & 3.

Job Duties Include:
  • Supervising Captains within Regions 1, 2 and 3.
  • Planning, coordinating and directing field operations through the supervisor of the Region.
  • Acting as technical advisor to supervisors, officers, administrative personnel and other divisions in matters pertinent to law enforcement operations.
  • Working closely with Command Staff to assist or supervise program areas in their absence.
  • Providing input at Command Staff level as to training needs, field operation matters, legislative issues, and personnel matters related to enforcement officers.
  • Maintaining Department-issued equipment.
  • Representing the Department at various seminars, workshops and other law enforcement agencies to provide DNR support and representation.
  • Maintaining oversight and review of regional expenditures for budgetary matters.
A bachelor's degree and three (3) years of high-level law enforcement supervisory experience at DNR as a Class I LE Officer, preferably in natural resources (wildlife) enforcement. Related law enforcement experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-to-year basis.Extensive knowledge of South Carolina laws pertaining to game, fish and boating law enforcement. Extensive knowledge of management principles and practices. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the Department of Natural Resources employees and the general public. Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of subordinate personnel.
Salary124,856.00 - 124,856.00 Annual
