This position is located at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW)- Health Care Facility in Raleigh, NC.

NCCIW is the state's primary correctional facility for women. It houses the largest female offender population in the state and serves as the support facility for the state's other female offenders. This Institution houses up to 1700 of minimum, medium and close custody female offenders. The Healthcare Facility employs approximately 260 full time employees.

This position will report directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) and will assist the DON with auditing and health care compliance through reports, data gathering and facility site visits. Primary responsibilities include onsite support to facilities who have passed or are preparing for ACA accreditation. Job duties may also include providing support to maintain facility health care compliance with PREA, Health and Safety and other healthcare standards. This position will support quality improvement initiatives and assist with support application of improvement plans. The LPN (Clinical Support Specialist) may provide direct patient care within the scope of practice to the offender population throughout the region under supervision of a Registered Nurse. Direct patient care may include: screening, observing and assessing patients, providing basic wound care and personal care to patients, delivering routine respiratory therapy and other treatments, catheter and colostomy care, collecting vital signs and specimens, preparing and administering medications, administering/interpreting TB skin tests, observing and recording pertinent patient information, responding to emergencies, and assisting the Registered Nurse and Physician, as required. Regular hours will be 8am – 5pm M-F; or otherwise approved by the DON. Individuals may be required to occasionally work other shifts, weekends, or holidays.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
