The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for a non-permanent Corrections Specialist 3, PREA Compliance Coordinator, at Clallam Bay Corrections Center.
Clallam Bay Corrections Center is a 900-bed male correctional facility located on the point of the Olympic Peninsula. It is 50 miles west of Port Angeles and looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Vancouver Island. This facility houses medium and close custody incarcerated individuals. CBCC also operates a Restricted Housing Unit.

This position works collaboratively with the Correctional Program Manager (CPM) to document and track all PREA related incidents and develop and maintain federal standards for the facility.
- Manage PREA investigations for the facility.
- Provide on-site consultation and technical assistance to facility management and staff regarding implementation of national PREA Standards and agency policies, respond to inquiries; and assist in issue resolution and local procedure development.
- Monitor completion of PREA Risk Assessment (PRAs) by Classification Counselors and work with the CPM to ensure completion within timeframes and quarterly reports are submitted in a timely manner.
- Coordinates the logistics of the DOJ PREA Audit.
- Regularly meets with Department Heads to keep them apprised of the status of audit preparation activities.
- Conducts PREA investigations as assigned.
- Coordinates PREA Orientation for incarcerated individuals and ensures that required posters, phone numbers, and brochures are posted and available for incarcerated individuals and visitors.
- Coordinates and manages the dissemination and implementation of new PREA standard requirements.
- Work with facility Training Manager to ensure employees responsible for completing PREA Risk Assessments have received required training.
- Serves on the facility PREA Response Team.
- Joint chair of the CBCC PREA Sustainability Committee.
- Maintains PREA Response Plan, ensuring policies and forms are current, and replacing documents as needed
- Ensure PREA vulnerability assessments are completed within timeframes as set by the Dept of Corrections; Ensure facility considers ability to protect incarcerated individuals from sexual misconduct when planning substantial expansion or modification to existing buildings and/or installing/updating video monitoring systems, electronic surveillance systems or other monitoring technology.
Qualifications:
Four years of professional experience in adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or closely related field.
Note: Corrections experience means the focus of the work is dealing with Incarcerated Individuals a majority of the time in addition to the above, this position requires:

- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
