District of Columbia.To qualify for the Supervisory Police Officer, PQ - 0083 - 7 , you must meet the following requirements:
You must possess (1) year of specialized experience at the PZ-06 (or equivalent) level or higher.
Specialized experience includes: directing the work of law enforcement engaged in specified enforcement programs/operations, overseeing police officers performing patrol, checkpoint, and related law enforcement/protective duties, providing administrative and technical supervision in law enforcement practices and policies; and working with federal, state, and local agencies concerning investigations involving incidents of mutual interest.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (07/11/2025) to be considered. There is no substitution of education for experience.
