Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least three (3) years of full-time police experience.
• Served as a full-time police officer within last two years of the hire date.
• Must have or able to obtain ILETSB SRO Certification within 1 year. https://www.ptb.illinois.gov/resources/search?q=SRO
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a comprehensive pre-employment screening process to include:
• background investigation
• polygraph
• psychological
• medical examination with drug testing

Tattoo and Beard Policy:

Visible tattoos are allowed on a limited basis, tattoos are not permitted on the ears, face, head, hands, fingers (except for single wedding band tattoos) or neck. Tattoos are subject to approval by the chief of police.
