ALLEN CORRECTIONAL CENTER

- This position will service as the Deputy Warden 3 of Allen Correctional Center a LOC 2 facility housing adult male offenders and will serve as the primary assistant to the facility’s administrator, a Corrections Warden 3.
One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been at the managerial level or above with direct-line supervisory responsibility over two or more subordinates:
Four years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises plus one of the following:
1. Six years of full-time experience in any field; or
2. A bachelor's degree.
OR
A master's degree plus three years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises; OR
A doctorate plus two years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by State and Federal laws is granted.
In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
- The incumbent of this position will assume the responsibility of operations for the facility in the absence of the Corrections Warden 3.
- Provides administrative authority over the entire Security Program.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing is maintained at all times.
- Directs the development of the security operating budget and food service budget and directs and monitors actions of First Step Requests for Administrative Remedy in order to resolve offender complaints.
- Assists with the development and review/revision of policies and procedures for the establishment.
