Peace officers working at special events, receptions, concerts, and festivals are responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws and regulations, and ensuring a secure environment for attendees, vendors, and event staff. This role requires vigilance, strong communication skills, and the ability to act quickly and appropriately in dynamic situations.Event Security and Crowd Control:
  • Monitors entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Conducts bag checks or security screenings, as required.
  • Manages crowd movement to ensure safe ingress, egress, and flow within event areas.
  • Responds to disturbances, de-escalates conflicts, and addresses disorderly behavior.
Law Enforcement and Public Safety:
  • Enforces local policies and state laws, as applicable during the event.
  • Responds to emergencies, including medical incidents, altercations, or other safety concerns.
  • Provides traffic control on parking lots and highways.
  • Provides a visible law enforcement presence to deter criminal activity.
Communication and Coordination:
  • Collaborates with event organizers, private security teams, and other law enforcement personnel.
  • Uses radios or communication devices to coordinate responses with team members.
  • Interacts with the public to provide directions, answer questions, and offer assistance.
Emergency Response and Incident Management:
  • Responds promptly to emergencies, including evacuations, natural disasters, or other critical incidents.
  • Prepares detailed incident reports for any arrests, injuries, or significant events.
  • Assists in crowd evacuation procedures if necessary.
Compliance and Regulation Enforcement:
  • Ensures compliance with alcohol consumption laws, noise ordinances, and other event-specific rules.
  • Monitors and enforces restrictions related to prohibited items or behaviors.
  • Must be a peace officer by the Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Officers and Education.
  • Experience in law enforcement or event security, preferred.

  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.
  • Working in low temperatures.
  • Working in poor ventilation.
  • Working small and/or enclosed spaces.
  • Working in adverse environmental conditions is expected.
  • Light work that includes carrying objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Medium work that includes carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Heavy work that includes carrying objects up to 100 pounds or more.

  • Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
  • Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Driving a County vehicle or a personal vehicle for County business.
  • Working in high temperatures.
  • Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
  • Working in noisy environments.
  • Working in hazardous conditions.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Valid Texas Driver’s License*
*If the applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver’s License must be obtained prior to employment.
