The information below outlines the anticipated processes for selecting the next Chief of Police. As you go through the application process, we encourage you to reflect on your vision for public safety, leadership style, and how you would contribute to the continued success and growth of our police department.

Applications for the Chief of Police position shall include your resume, a cover letter and written responses to the enclosed questionnaire. A select few of the applicants may be invited to attend an interview with the hiring panel and will be considered semi-finalists. Following the panel interviews, finalists for the position will be announced and will be invited to attend a community open house including elected officials, community members, and staff.

The following is the anticipated schedule:

September 23, 2024, 3pm            Resume, cover letter, and initial questionnaire due

October 7-11, 2024                       Panel interview with selected semi-finalist applicants

October 22, 2024, 6pm                  Community open house to meet selected finalists

November 25, 2024                       Start date for new Chief of Police
