Performs intermediate work providing a variety of community services not requiring licensed police officers in areas including, but not necessarily limited to: traffic / parking, equipment maintenance, the watch property program, crime prevention, transport of personnel or evidence. Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
- Enforces City ordinances and assists peace officers with traffic management at accident scenes and at traffic survey sites.
- Assists in the maintenance of department emergency equipment, vehicles/apparatus, and inventory of medical supplies.
- Transports personnel and/or evidence as requested, ensuring that safety and security is maintained at all stages of such transports.
- Monitors designated properties on the watch list and reports any unusual or suspicious activity to a licensed peace officer.
- Assists peace officers and firefighters as directed in setting up and preventative measures intended to help reduce and prevent crime and fire emergencies in the City.
- Performs a variety of animal control activities including investigating citizen complaints and enforcing established animal control ordinances.
- Assists peace officers in monitoring prisoners in City jail cells.
- High School Diploma or GED with moderate work-related experience.
- Valid MN Driver's License.
