Description Non-sworn uniformed position within the Apple Valley Police Dept.

This is an entry level and highly responsible position in the PD which performs duties involving contact with the general public both by phone and in person. Assists and relieves law enforcement personnel in the performance of various law enforcement functions that do not require being armed. This position will involve shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in all weather conditions or may work in the office or in the holding facility in direct contact with persons who have been arrested or detained. Typical duties may vary from routine; non-sworn police work to more complex tasks. Position is under the supervision of the Patrol Sergeant. CSO assignment is not to exceed three years.
