Reporting to a Police Sergeant, the Police Corporal is the front line, operational supervisor that provides security and protection to the University community, to include providing on-site leadership to lower level Officers during emergency and routine situations.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Assist in preparation of daily assignments and the weekly duty roster, based upon an observation and assessment of individual officer skills/performance levels, relative to scheduled protective services activities or special requests.
  • Acts on behalf of the Sergeant during his/her absence, to include preparing, approving and posting the weekly duty roster, or special assignments.
  • This position may serve as a liaison with other GW Divisions and Departments during events or incidents, and with outside Law Enforcement agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
