Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Be at least 21 years of age by the time of appointment
  • Be under age 35 by the final eligibility list date unless exempt under Illinois law
  • Meet all Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board requirements

Application Deadline

Friday, July 17, 2026 – 4:00 PM

Applications must be completed and submitted by the deadline.

Applicants must include copies of:

  • Birth Certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • DD-214 (if applicable for military preference points)

Testing Process

Saturday, July 25, 2026

Testing includes:

  • Written Examination
  • Illinois POWER Test
  • Oral Interview (for successful candidates)

Failure to complete any portion of the testing process will result in removal from consideration.

Additional Selection Process

Successful candidates may be required to complete:

  • Background Investigation
  • Polygraph Examination
  • Psychological Evaluation
  • Medical Examination
  • Drug Screening
