Reporting directly to an assigned Sergeant, responsible for performing advanced research to support system quality control, reporting and evidence analysis for the Criminal Investigations Division within the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).
* The internal employee selected to fill this vacancy will have a state date of 10/13/2025- Assists with investigations involving digital evidence locations such as cell phones, tablets, cloud, chat app, and cell phone providers
- Examines and searches devices related to investigations and collects documents files for evidence purposes
- Provides direct assistance to detectives, officers and supervisors regarding investigation information
- Collaborates and oversees digital evidence and coordinates location, storage, and collection
- Manages and oversees the WCSO forensics lab and monitors controlled access
- Maintains and updates all software systems associated with digital evidence tracking
- Conducts quality control to identify evidence room, forensics computers and equipment are certified and compliant for use
- Oversees the delivery and distribution of digital evidence to detectives and coordinates evidence checkout protocols and tracking
- Creates and compiles concise reports to aid with investigations, crime statistical reporting and other Sheriff Office reporting needs
- Serves as primary contact for external agencies and processes digital evidence request as necessary
- Develops and maintains operational routines and procedures for evidence property including organizing, storing, and arranging for daily use
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four (4) years of law enforcement experience including investigations assistance, evidence collection, and analyzing digital evidence experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of record tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within one (1) year of employment
- CCO (Cellebrite Certified Operator) Certification
- CCPA (Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyzer) Certification
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
- Valid Texas Driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Four (4) years of digital forensic experience
