The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Detention Deputy. Detention Deputies are responsible for maintaining the safety, security, custody, and control of individuals housed within the Benton County Detention Center. This position plays a critical role in the daily operation of the facility and supports the Sheriff’s Office mission to protect the public, maintain order, and provide professional service to the citizens of Benton County.
Detention Deputies perform a variety of duties related to inmate supervision, facility security, booking, classification, inmate movement, searches, report writing, and emergency response. Deputies are expected to maintain a professional demeanor, follow established policies and procedures, and treat all individuals with fairness, dignity, and respect while ensuring a safe and secure detention environment.
