The Ponderay Police Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Patrol Officer.
Our agency consists of seven dedicated sworn officers, who are committed to proactive, community policing. Ponderay is an area of just over three-square miles, with a population of about 2,200 residents. It is a business and retail hub for the northern panhandle. Sandpoint boarders the city to the southwest, and Bonners Ferry, ID, and the Montana and Washington State Lines are all within about 35 miles.
The City of Ponderay offers great benefits. Depending on experience the position’s base salary is $59,200 to $66,200 ($28.45 - $31.85/hr) - which does not include any overtime pay, holiday pay, etc.
Qualified applicants must be able to pass: the POST Physical Readiness Test, a Written Test, Oral Board Interview, Polygraph Examination, Medical Evaluation, and Psychological Evaluation. Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
