Description
The City of Beloit has an exciting employment opportunity as a Planner II in the Planning and Building Services Division of the Community Development Department. The Planner II is responsible for professional work in the field of urban and community planning.
Work with this position involves collection and analysis of a wide range of community development, transportation and urban planning information to make recommendations regarding planning strategies, processes, policies and ordinances. This position manages a variety of planning projects, provides staff support to various City boards and commissions and collaborates with City staff, developers, allied professionals, public officials and the general public to address planning related issues and activities. The Planner II position requires considerable independent judgement, initiative and responsibility. Other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College/University with major course work in Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Studies, Geography or similar field of study.
A minimum of two (2) years of professional urban planning experience is required, preferably in a municipal government setting.
Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position may also be considered.
